REVIEW: SPRING BEAUTY FINDS FROM TJ MAXX

tjmaxx_products As you probably know by now, I'll try anything beauty-related once. I'm always on the lookout for the next best thing, and award major bonus points for bargain beauty buys. I was at TJ Maxx over the weekend, and picked up a few fun treats. Since spring is around the corner, I want to prep my skin. Winter has wrecked havoc on my skin, especially my poor feet. Indulging in a sugar scrub and foot peel is a no-brainer—read on to see what I thought of these products found in the TJ Maxx beauty section.

grapefruit_sugar_scrub

Asquith & Somerset Grapefruit Orange Deeply Nourishing Sugar Scrub, $5.99

Sugar scrubs are IT when it comes to getting a summery glow. Slough off all the dead skin and bring color to the surface of skin by gently scrubbing all over the body. The citrusy scent calms and awakens—and grapefruit is like a detox for skin. Refresh, nourish, and reset with a sugar scrub before you bare your summery skin—and don't drop a ton of money on it. This one definitely got the job done for me.

tea_tree_oil_foot_peel

Earth Therapeutics Tea Tree Oil Gentle Foot Peel, $4.99

I was super skeptical when it came to this foot peel. I have icky feet from being a dancer and cheerleader when I was younger, so it usually takes a professional to get them looking presentable for the warmer months. This worked, though—it might not have gotten rid of my calluses, but my feet are so smooth and refreshed now. I used it after a shower—the instructions say to apply to dry feet. So I gently massaged onto my dry feet and then rinsed. It's a very thick formula, but it's chock-full of fruit acids, tiny microbeads, and a bunch of other goodies. It didn't burn or tingle at all, so it didn't seem like it worked—until I started applying lotion. All the excess dry skin and rough patches are completely gone. For the price, you've gotta get this. Maybe stock up. TJ Maxx doesn't sell the same stuff forever.

cocoa_butter

Somerset Toiletry Company Cocoa Butter Body Moisturizer, $7.99

We all know that cocoa butter is the ultimate moisturizer. It's been hailed as the holy grail of lotions for centuries, and people swear by it for stretch marks and myriad other ailments. It is pricy, though—which is why if you find a deal on it from a reputable carrier, you should pick it up. In bulk. The Somerset Toiletry Company (which TJ Maxx stocks a lot of) carries this tub of cocoa butter for SO CHEAP. It's everything you need in a moisturizer—creamy, thick, and lightly scented. I used it all over after rinsing the sugar scrub off, and again on my feet after using the peel. You get 8.5 oz for under $8—not bad at all for a product where a little goes a long way.
